About Me

Hi, I'm Lenah. I'm offering mentorship chats to "pass the baton" because I’ve realised that privilege often buys more privilege. Mentorship can help counter this by demystifying scholarship opportunities and encouraging participants to believe in themselves and reach new heights.

My Story
I grew up in a second-generation Muslim Lebanese household in Adelaide, Australia. My parents, especially my dad, were my first mentors. A lawyer in Lebanon, my dad earned his degree despite studying by candlelight while gunshots rang out in Tripoli. His French law degree was not recognized in Australia, but his struggle led him to firmly support the education of his four daughters. Because of him, I learned to believe in myself and in 2017, I was awarded a fully-funded scholarship to NYU Abu Dhabi. This marked my first international flight and I initially struggled with homesickness, imposter syndrome, and adjusting to a new culture. Fast forward almost eight years, and I’ve been fortunate to be the recepiant of various opportunities, including:

  • A full-funded BA at New York University (Abu Dhabi campus)

  • A fully-funded MA program at the University of Melbourne as a Westpac Future Leader Scholar

  • A fully-funded 9-month program as a Dubai Business Associate, sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, PM of Dubai

  • Consultancy experience at a government policy advisory focusing on higher education in Abu Dhabi

  • Internships at firms including DP World (a multinational logistics company), the Dubai Executive Council, and the Economic Policy Research Institute in South Africa

More recently, my younger sister was awarded a full-ride scholarship to United World College for IB high school education. The sky's the limit when you know what opportunities are out there. I hope you’ll leave the conversation feeling more inspired than yesterday.

I look forward to meeting and talking with you soon! :)
